Raytech is seeking a skilled Electronic Engineering Technician to support the testing, diagnostics, repair, modification, and technical documentation of electronic devices and systems across mobile phones, laptops, tablets, and related hardware.

The role supports engineering and technical operations by assisting in the development, maintenance, and optimisation of electronic components, assemblies, and systems used in Raytech’s repair, refurbishment, recycling, and enterprise device management services.

This is a permanent full-time position, and you are required to work at least 30 hours per week between Monday and Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Technical & Engineering Support

            •           Assist electronic engineers in the testing, evaluation, and modification of electronic circuits, components, and assemblies used in mobile devices, laptops, and tablets.

            •           Conduct fault diagnosis and root-cause analysis using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and logic analysers.

            •           Support engineering investigations into recurring hardware faults and reliability issues across device models and batches.

 

Testing, Calibration & Quality Control

            •           Perform functional testing, performance testing, and quality assurance checks on repaired and refurbished electronic devices.

            •           Assist with calibration and verification of electronic components and systems to ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.

            •           Record and analyse test results, identifying trends and recommending corrective actions.

 

Repair, Modification & Prototyping

            •           Carry out component-level repair, replacement, and rework on printed circuit boards (PCBs), connectors, power modules, and electronic subassemblies.

            •           Assist with modifications and improvements to electronic assemblies to enhance durability, performance, or compatibility.

            •           Support small-scale prototyping, refurbishment workflows, and engineering trials for new devices or repair methodologies.

 

Documentation & Technical Reporting

            •           Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures, fault reports, repair guides, and engineering support records.

            •           Assist in updating standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical manuals used by repair and refurbishment teams.

 

Compliance, Safety & Sustainability

            •           Ensure all work complies with electrical safety standards, ESD procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements.

            •           Support Raytech’s sustainability initiatives by assisting in device refurbishment, recycling, and responsible disposal processes.

 

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

            •           Liaise with engineers to resolve technical issues and improve device lifecycle efficiency.

            •           Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing repair times, improving quality outcomes, and lowering costs.

 Skills and Experience

  • ·      At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field OR
  • ·      At least three years of proven work experience in a similar role
  • ·      Strong understanding of electronic circuits, components, and digital devices.
  • ·      Hands-on experience in electronic testing, fault-finding, and diagnostics.
  • ·      Ability to interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and specifications.
  • ·      Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment.
  • ·      High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
