We are a well-established business based in Auckland and we are looking for three (3) Heavy Truck Drivers for permanent full-time positions. You will be guaranteed 32 hours per week and rostered anytime from Monday to Saturday based on work assignments. You will be primarily responsible for driving across the Auckland region and time to time, you may have to travel out of Auckland to other regions based on the availability of work. We offer competitive wage between $32.00-$36.00 per hour for the right candidate.
Job Responsibilities:
· Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods to various destinations
· Loading and unloading the truck
· Load inspection and estimating weight prior to driving
· Plan routes to meet delivery schedule
· Ensuring compliance with load limitations and ensuring safe distribution of weight
· Ensuring goods are stored safely and are secure
· Maintain accurate records of deliveries and all relevant paperwork of daily activities
· Maintain radio contact to receive and transmit instructions
· Provide excellent customer service, building positive relationships with clients
· Cleaning and maintaining the truck
· Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck and report any maintenance or safety issues
· Maintain the log book
· Comply with all traffic regulations and maintain clean driving record
· Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times
· Performs all duties assigned by management in a timely manner
· Report Incidents accurately and timely
Requirements:
· Clean class 4 or 5 driver licence or international equivalent
· Must have at least one year of relevant work experience
· Must know 18 speed manual roadranger gearbox
· Physical ability to load and unload truck as necessary
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time efficiently
· A strong commitment to safety and responsible driving practices
· Flexibility to work variable hours including public holidays based on work assignments
