Job Description:
As the HR Manager at Carrington Estate, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment and optimising our HR policies and processes. Responsible for overseeing all human resource activities and ensuring the development and implementation of effective HR strategies. This leadership position is an opportunity to shape the organization's HR strategies, cultivate a high-performance culture, and drive employee engagement and development initiatives.
In this role, you will:
Talent Acquisition and Management: Lead the recruitment and selection process, ensuring that Carrington Estate attracts and retains top talent. Develop and implement strategies that attract diverse candidates, evaluate resumes, conduct interviews, and oversee the onboarding process to ensure seamless integration into the company.
Employee Development and Training: Create and implement training and development programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of our employees. Lead performance management initiatives, providing guidance to managers on effective feedback and career development opportunities. Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
HR Policies and Compliance: Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with legal requirements and align with best practices. Ensure that all employees are aware of and adhere to these policies. Stay up to date with changing employment laws and regulations, proactively adapting our practices when necessary.
Employee Relations and Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive work environment where employees feel valued and motivated. Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement, such as wellness initiatives and team-building activities. Act as a trusted advisor for employees on HR-related matters, promoting open communication channels throughout the organisation.
Compensation and Benefits: Collaborate with the management team to develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits packages. Conduct benchmarking analysis to ensure our offerings remain attractive within the industry.
Other Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with department heads and provide guidance on workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and ethical practices.
- Oversee compensation, benefits, and payroll administration, ensuring competitiveness within the industry.
- Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives, fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing advice on employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance improvement plans.
Build a strong career and succession planning system to retain and develop talent
Provide a framework for counselling, coaching, and team member wellbeing
Manage a robust & effective reward & recognition programme
Manage current Health and Safety programme
To excel in this role, we are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Laws, Business Administration, or related field
Proven experience in a managerial HR role, preferably within the hospitality industry
Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws
Exceptional organisational and leadership skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate with employees at all levels.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Demonstrated experience in HR policy and program development, performance management, and employee relations.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Proficient in HR software and tools
