Job description

• Assembling scaffolds and ladders, and laying protective sheets to shield nearby areas from paint drips or splashes
• Getting surfaces ready by stripping old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling cracks and holes, and sanding or sealing as needed
• Mixing paints to desired shades by combining pigments, oils, thinners, and drying agents
• Applying coatings such as paint, varnish, and stains to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Installing wallpaper, aligning designs, and cutting edges neatly
• Maintaining cleanliness of tools, equipment, and work areas
• Performing minor window repairs, including replacing glass in timber or metal frames
• Uses paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other finishes to preserve, enhance, and decorate building surfaces and structures. Licensing or registration may be necessary
• Performing other reasonable duties as required by the employer

More details about the position

• Location: Waikato
• Job type: Full-time
• Pay rate: 28.00 – 32.00 New Zealand dollars per hour
• Days required: 5 days per week, on a rostered basis
• Hours per week: At least 30

Job Requirement

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, or a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification (or equivalent overseas qualification), or a bachelor degree in any discipline is required.
