Join Te Tāhū o te Ture | the Ministry of Justice at a pivotal moment. The Culture and Capability team is established, the Organisational Development team is formed, and we are now looking for a Principal Advisor Organisational Development to come in early and help shape the OD strategy, priorities, and workplan for the years ahead.
This is a genuine opportunity to influence direction, not simply deliver pre-defined programmes. You’ll be part of a high-performing, values-driven OD team built on strong relationships, trust, and evidence-based practice, with significant scope to define how OD creates value for the organisation.
Te Haeata | The OpportunityAre you a strategic organisational development expert who can turn insight into action and deliver initiatives that truly shift organisational culture and capability? As our Principal Advisor Organisational Development, you will play a central role in shaping, designing, and delivering the strategies and frameworks that support the Ministry’s long-term strategic intent. This role spans the full organisational development spectrum and blends strategic thinking, subject matter expertise, evidence-based design, and strong programme delivery capability.
Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll influence leadership capability, enable culture and engagement shifts, and guide the development of frameworks and programmes across leadership development, talent and succession, culture, diversity and inclusion, cultural capability, and more. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and influence, requiring sound professional judgement, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to work effectively in a complex system.

Utu ā-tau/SalaryThe salary band for this role is $130,129 - $179,192 with the appointing salary for this role likely to be between $130,129 and $168,062, based on skills and experience.
