New Zealand Police plays an important part across Aotearoa, alongside our sector partners, in reducing harm on our roads through road safety prevention, education and enforcement activities.
The National Road Policing Centre (NRPC) plays a critical role in facilitating and enabling Police to deliver road safety activities by providing important services to the Commissioner, Police Executive and Districts. The NRPC is made up of specialist teams that provide strategic and operational support to enable our frontline to keep people safe on our roads.
This role is part of the Strategy and Finance team at NRPC, responsible for supporting the development, implementation and reporting of the three-year, billion-dollar Road Policing Investment Programme (RPIP).
As we prepare for the 2027/30 RPIP Investment case, we are looking for a highly motivated person with previous experience, attention to detail, adept at being agile and a "path finder" to support the financial and asset requirements of Police to deliver Road Policing Services. You will work closely with the manager and another advisor and have great opportunities to grow and learn.
Key Accountabilities:
Support the development, implementation and reporting of the three-year Road Policing Investment Programme (RPIP) - Investment case and assets
Provide finance and business support including annual budgets, accruals, forecasting and reporting internally and externally
Take a lead role in the investment planning for assets, including establishment and maintenance of asset investment plans and contracts

Experience in investment planning, management accounting or large dataset analysis and model development
Experience preparing and delivering strategic documents or reports that provide insights and advice to Senior Leaders
Experience working in strategic business contexts and/or experience within a central government environment
Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships across a range of stakeholders
Excellent written and oral communication skills including critical thinking
Ability to manage priorities and deliver to deadlines.
Strong influencing and problem-solving skills
Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
Relevant tertiary finance, economics, business or accounting qualification or similar is required
Qualified Chartered Accountant CA ANZ or equivalent

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $110,425 and $117,014 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
