We are seeking two dedicated Fast Food Cooks to support daily operations at TurkishKebab Hut in Christchurch. The role includes assisting with food preparation, maintaining product quality, operating basic kitchen equipment, and ensuring a clean and hygienic workspace. Duties also involve restocking supplies, handling deliveries, and supporting customer service when required. Applicants must work well under pressure, follow health and safety standards, and be available for rostered shifts, including weekends.
Job Description:
We are looking for two Fast Food Cooks for our busy store “Kebab Hut” in Christchurch
The job duties may include:
· The ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
· Ensuring that all meals in your section are presented & portioned according to the standard recipes & food photos and meet the correct food costs
· Ensure all products are being kept securely and under the correct condition applicable to each type of commodity stored
· Preparation (or supervision) of the stocks and sauces, ensuring flavour and consistency in relation to the standard recipes and food photos.
· Need to ensure that all meals are served within the time frame the kitchen demands
· Ensuring the kitchen is clean and sanitary
· Follow all hygiene and Health and Safety regulations within the kitchen
· Regularly update your knowledge and skills for the good of the establishment and attend training sessions as required
· Prepare hot food, accompanying sauces, warm and cold salads and achieve this within the time frame the kitchen demands
· Record stock levels and ordering supplies
· Operating cooking equipment such as grills, microwaves and deep-fat fryers
· Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries. Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift
· Any other duties the employer may reasonably require
Skills required:
· Ability to work under pressure
· Ability to work rostered shifts between the hours of 11.00am -4.00am next day
· Must be available to work weekends
· People skills
· Ability to pass the drug and criminal history check if required
· Finished high school
· Able to provide positive work references
· Physically fit and able to lift weights up to 30 Kg
· Relevant experience preferred but not essential
· Pay rate $25 - $30 in line with your skills.
