South Pacific Health (SPH) seeks a skilled food technologist to join our Hobsonville team. You will lead product development and quality assurance for our premium range, specializing in Manuka honey and natural bee products. We need a detail-oriented professional to ensure regulatory compliance, optimize production, and maintain our high standards of purity. About the Role

As a food technologist at South Pacific Health, you will serve as a bridge between scientific research and commercial production. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our natural health products—with a specialized focus on our high-value Manuka honey and bee product range, alongside marine extracts and colostrum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Honey & Bee Product Innovation: Formulate and trial new honey-based health products, ensuring the maintenance of Unique Manuka Factor (UMF) and MGO levels.
• Compliance: Navigate New Zealand food safety regulations (MPI) and therapeutic standards to ensure full market compliance for export.
• Quality Control: Implement rigorous testing protocols for purity, stability, and nutritional potency, specifically managing honey filtration and moisture standards.
• Process Improvement: Enhance manufacturing efficiency at our Hobsonville facility while maintaining the delicate biological integrity of natural ingredients.
• Technical Support: Provide expert advice on ingredient interactions, shelf-life stability, and specialized storage solutions.

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in food science, chemistry, or a related field (ANZSCO skill level 1)

        or

       at least five years of relevant work experience in food manufacturing, ideally with

       honey, bee products, or natural supplements.

• Strong understanding of HACCP, RMP (Risk Management Programs), and food safety management systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset to work within our Auckland team.
