Indian Curry &Tandoori Cook-1

Positions Available

We are looking for  1 experienced Indian Curry and Tandoori Cooks to join our well-established and growing business. The successful applicants must be passionate about authentic Indian cuisine and capable of preparing high-quality dishes with consistency and flavour.
As we are expanding our kitchen operations, experience or knowledge in international fast-food cuisine will be an advantage and will enhance your application.
Requirements:
Applicants must have either:
A relevant qualification, OR
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience working in an Indian cuisine restaurant or hotel environment.
The ideal candidate should:
Have strong knowledge of Indian spices and cooking techniques
Be experienced in preparing authentic Indian curries, tandoori dishes, and Indian snacks
Be flexible to work within a 7-day operation, including split shifts
Work well within a team environment
Have good communication and interpersonal skills
Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian curries and tandoori dishes
Perform food preparation, seasoning, and cooking duties
Maintain food quality and presentation standards at all times
Prepare gravies, sauces, and marinades as required
Store food correctly in chillers and freezers
Monitor cooking temperatures and kitchen equipment
Ensure meals are portioned and garnished correctly
Prepare meals according to customers’ dietary requirements
Check freshness and quality of ingredients
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with NZ food safety regulations
Assist with stocktaking and reporting to the Chef
Assist in recipe development and food presentation
Support portion control and quality consistency
Train and support junior kitchen staff when required
Position Details:
Guaranteed minimum 30 hours per week
Full-time and permanent position
Location: Tararua District, Manawatu Region
Number of Positions: 1
Pay Rate: $25 – $30 per hour (depending on experience)

A valid work visa permitting employment in New Zealand.
