Lakeside Palace Chinese Restaurant is located on the lakeside of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown. For many years, we have offered delicious Chinese food to tourists and locals. We now need two Cooks to help us to provide top-quality food. This is a full-time job with guaranteed hours of 30 hours per week. But you will typically work at least 40 hours per week. 

The job involves the following tasks and duties: 

·      Preparing and cooking all the dishes offered by the restaurant

·      Seasoning food during preparation and cooking, when necessary

·      Monitoring the quality of food at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation

·      Store unused food and material in a proper way

·      Assisting in improving dishes

·      Assisting in managing the overall operation of the kitchen

·      Assisting in ordering supplies and stocks

·      Ensuring the kitchen’s operation complies with hygiene and safety regulations. 

To qualify for the job:

· At least two-year work experience in cooking. A level 4 or above qualification in cookery can replace the work experience requirement.

· You should have a can-do attitude and be able to work under pressure since our restaurant is extremely busy during peak hours.

· You should also have good interpersonal skills in order to coordinate duties in the kitchen.
