About the role

The Mission Centre Co-ordinator is responsible for coordinating the planning, allocation and effective use of Mission Centre resources, ensuring facilities remain safe, operational and fit for purpose while supporting the delivery of community programmes and services.

Working closely with the Corps Officer and Mission Centre leadership, the successful applicant will coordinate the day-to-day operation of the Mission Centre while working with internal teams, community groups, contractors and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and coordinating the Mission Centre Year Planner and operational activities.
  • Coordinating the allocation and utilisation of Mission Centre facilities and spaces to support operational, ministry and community requirements.
  • Coordinating room use across ministries, community groups and other users.
  • Ensuring external groups using the Mission Centre are appropriately inducted into site health and safety requirements.
  • Coordinating Licence to Occupy agreements and the administration of associated charges for facility use.
  • Promoting appropriate community use of Mission Centre facilities and spaces.
  • Monitoring the condition of Mission Centre facilities and identifying maintenance, repair and improvement requirements.
  • Managing and coordinating the register for regular building and building systems maintenance.
  • Monitoring maintenance issues requiring resolution and coordinating planned and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinating and overseeing maintenance work undertaken by external contractors.
  • Planning maintenance in accordance with The Salvation Army Preventative Maintenance Fund policies, including obtaining competitive quotations and coordinating approvals.
  • Overseeing contractor visits.
  • Coordinating and monitoring standards for room and storage space presentation and cleanliness.
  • Managing and maintaining the Mission Centre asset and inventory register.
  • Coordinating building health and safety activities, including daily building safety checks, health and safety documentation, compliance records and incident reporting.
  • Managing the Mission Centre email address and voicemail.
  • Collecting, maintaining and preparing operational statistical information and reports.
  • Coordinating invoices with the Business Hub, banking cash in conjunction with authorised personnel, and coordinating reception activities during Community Ministries foodbank hours.

Minimum requirements

Applicants must have either:

  • A Diploma qualification in business, administration or a related field; or
  • A minimum of three years' relevant work experience in a similar role.

Applicants must also demonstrate:

  • Confidence in the accurate execution of tasks
  • Client management
  • Business administration
  • Co-ordination of resources
  • Resolution of conflicting issues
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office / OneDrive and, CoPilot (desirable)
  • Comfortable use of social media apps
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good cross-cultural understanding.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment, sharing information, ideas and effective practices while maintaining client and service privacy, and confidentiality.
