Partner on a range of commercial, procurement and commissioning activities across ACC for health, technology, injury prevention and service delivery programmes. About the role\n

As a Senior Solicitor, you will provide trusted legal and commercial advice, helping ACC navigate risk while achieving strategic and operational objectives. You’ll work closely with procurement specialists, commissioning and project teams, senior leaders and external stakeholders to develop practical solutions, support commercial negotiations and organisational initiatives, and contribute to ACC’s commercial and contracting frameworks. You’ll work alongside a collaborative team of experienced and highly regarded professionals on a range of operational and strategic initiatives. The team provides legal advice across the commissioning, funding, procurement and contract management lifecycle, helping ACC deliver services that support millions of New Zealanders.

The base salary range for this role is $117,787 - $153,000, with appointment depending on skills and experience and internal relativities. ACC offers a comprehensive benefits package, which at present includes 9% employer superannuation contribution with no mandatory employee contribution, flexible working options, optional life and income protection insurance, ongoing professional development opportunities. Our preferred location for this role is Auckland, however applicants from Wellington will also be accepted.

You will be an experienced lawyer who combines strong legal judgement with commercial pragmatism and a collaborative approach to problem‑solving. You may have gained your experience in private practice, an in‑house legal team, a Crown entity, government agency, health organisation, technology business or another complex commercial environment. What matters most is your ability to provide clear, practical advice and build trusted relationships across the organisation.

  • Commercial and legal expertise: Experience providing legal advice on commercial arrangements, contracting, procurement, service delivery or other complex transactions. You can identify legal risks while helping clients achieve practical outcomes.
