DJDJ Music Group Limited, trading as Maestro Music School, is seeking a skilled and passionate Clarinet Music Teacher to join our teaching team in Auckland.

Maestro Music School is an established music school providing individual and group music lessons to students of different ages and skill levels. Our teaching approach focuses on developing students’ musical skills, confidence and enthusiasm for music.

Employment: Full-time, permanent
Salary: $28-$32 per hour
Location: Ellerslie, Auckland

Minimum Requirements

·       A degree in Music with a specialisation in Clarinet Performance Or

·       More than 3 years of teaching experience in Clarinet performing

Other requirements:

• Strong clarinet performance and teaching skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach students of different ages and skill levels.
• A patient, enthusiastic and professional approach to music teaching.

Job Duties

• Develop and deliver tailored individual and group clarinet lessons to students across a range of ages and musical abilities.
• Teach clarinet techniques, including posture, breathing, embouchure, fingering, articulation, tone production and musical expression.

• Prepare lesson plans, exercises, scales, études and repertoire appropriate to each student's ability and learning goals.
• Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback to support their musical development.
• Prepare students for music examinations, competitions, performances and auditions where required.
• Teach music theory, sight-reading, rhythm and basic musicianship relevant to clarinet playing.
• Demonstrate correct playing techniques and encourage students to develop effective and consistent practice habits.
• Select and arrange suitable musical pieces according to students' interests, abilities and learning objectives.
• Maintain lesson records and provide regular progress updates to students and parents.
• Communicate professionally with students, parents and other teachers regarding students' progress and learning needs.
• Assist with student performances, concerts, recitals and other music-related activities organised by the school.
• Maintain a safe, supportive and positive learning environment.
• Keep teaching materials, instruments and classroom equipment in good condition.
• Undertake other reasonable teaching and music-related duties as required by the school.
