Total hours per week – 30 - 40

Days of Work – 5 days per week

Rate per hour – Min $27  to Max $30

Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the daily operations of seafood processing facility, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of production staff in seafood processing.

• Ensure all seafood products are processed according to company, MPI (Ministry for Primary Industries), and importing country standards.

• Monitor production workflow to meet deadlines and maintain product quality.

• Conduct quality checks and enforce hygiene and food safety protocols.

• Perform pre-operation checks on hygiene, equipment, and amenities.

• Monitor pest control measures and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

• Ensure staff wear appropriate PPE and follow contamination prevention procedures.

• Train, coach, and mentor production staff.

• Maintain accurate records of production, quality, export quantities, and waste management.

• Collaborate with sales and quality inspectors to resolve production issues.

• Ensure equipment is maintained and safety procedures are followed.

• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure post-production cleaning is completed.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within seafood or food processing OR

• Minimum 2 years experience in a seafood or food processing industry

• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality assurance standards.

• Leadership and team management skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

• Flexible with working hours, including early mornings and weekends.

Other requirements:

• Driver’s license not required

• Pre-employment drug test- yes

• Credit check - yes

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 20–25 kg.

• Standing for extended periods in cool/wet environments.

• Manual handling and use of processing equipment.
