Pay rate :33.00 to 35.00 per hour (for both positions)
Full time minimum 30 hours per week (for both positions)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for energetic, friendly, and motivated individuals to join GRILL'D DECK LIMITED to manage the day-to-day operations of our busy restaurant. Located in Mount Maunganui, we are currently seeking applications for two full-time positions: a Restaurant Manager and a Chef. We are looking for enthusiastic team members who are passionate about hospitality, customer service, and delivering exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Chef
Position summary:
We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our team at the GRILL'D DECK LIMITED; you will be responsible for delivering delicious, high-quality meals and will play a crucial role in maintaining our reputation as a leading dining destination in the local community
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficient and effective workflows.
- Responsible in menu development and showcase seasonal ingredients and innovative culinary techniques
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen
- Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Preparing and cooking food, portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes
- Ensuring that adequate stocks of food are maintained (fresh, frozen, and dried).
- Allocate and oversee the work of the junior kitchen staff team including cleaning schedules.
- Ensuring that the food expenditure is kept within budget.
- To understand responsibilities in relation to fire procedures, health and safety, food hygiene, and emergency aid.
- Ensuring food is produced to a high standard as per Restaurant quality and council Standards.
- Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
- Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
Prerequisites:
- Two years of relevant work experience OR a qualification at NZQF Diploma
- Adaptable and creative mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must have flexibility on working weekends, days/hours to cover leave and peak trade periods as per the roster as the outlet is open 11.30 am to late night Tuesday to Sunday.
Restaurant Manager.
Position summary:
We are looking for an energetic and customer focused Restaurant Manager to join our team. Most of all we want a candidate with an amazing attitude and willingness to run the restaurant independently.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- You will lead, organise and keep our restaurant processes on track and constantly evolving.
- You will keep our restaurant organised and well-maintained, so team members feel part of a cohesive team.
- You will increase the engagement and fulfilment of our team by helping them develop and grow through culture-building initiatives.
- You will lead and coordinate daily logistical details to support food & beverage delivery and service standards including beverage menu planning, and beverage development in consultation with chefs.
- Selecting, training and supervising waiting and kitchen staff
- You will create special moments of WOW for our teams and customers by playing an important role in leading the team and customer recognition.
- Plan and organise special events and functions
- You will communicate with internal and external stakeholders via email, telephone and verbal processes with professional integrity.
- You will thrive on having a unique mix of recurring tasks, KPIs and special projects that add variety to your job role.
- You will help create and plan our team’s personal and professional growth focuses.
- You will be responsible for company purchases and reducing these company costs when they’re no longer fully utilised.
