Met Service is looking for an experienced UX Designer to help shape the future of our digital customer experience across Met , and the Met Service Apps. Working across product, technology, customer, and forecaster operations teams, you will lead user‐centred design practices that improve usability, accessibility, and customer satisfaction. You will drive user research and insights, influence prioritisation and decision making, and help build a strong customer‐centric culture across the organisation. This role combines strategic thinking with hands‐on UX design and research, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on products and services relied on by people and organisations across New Zealand. In this role you will: Lead UX research and design activities across Met Service digital consumer products Conduct user research, usability testing, and insight synthesis Design intuitive interfaces, wireframes, prototypes, and user flows Champion accessibility and inclusive design principles Contribute to development and implementation of Met Service's design system Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to deliver customer‐focused outcomes Help drive enterprise‐wide customer segmentation and understanding Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, processes, and design practice Stay current with emerging UX, design, and technology trends You are an experienced UX professional who combines strong research capability with practical design execution and strategic thinking. You are passionate about creating intuitive and accessible digital experiences and enjoy working collaboratively across teams to solve complex problems. You are comfortable influencing stakeholders, facilitating customer‐centred decision making, and balancing customer needs with organisational goals. You enjoy mentoring others, improving ways of working, and helping build mature UX practices within an organisation. You will also bring:7+ years' experience in UX design or a related field Strong experience conducting user research and usability testing Proficiency with UX and prototyping tools such as Figma.
