Position: EXCAVATOR OPERATOR
Job duties:
· Inspect equipment to ensure that it is functioning properly and performing as intended, ensuring it is set up and ready for use
Reading and interpreting site plans and blueprints of our construction and drainage projects to guide the process
· Operate excavation plant proficiently
· Utilise controls to excavate, drill, break, level, compact, move, load, and transport materials such as earth, rubble and rock
· Execute tasks related to roadwork, excavations, and material lifting
· Monitor equipment operations, adjusting controls as needed for optimal efficiency, and ensuring the safety of coworkers
· Operate equipment manually and through electronic or digital interfaces
· Follow verbal and written instructions meticulously to maintain high-quality work standards.
· Keep records of time spent working, materials used, and equipment maintenance issues to ensure compliance with regulations
· Report any issues or problems related to the equipment
· Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of equipment, conducting minor adjustments and repairs as necessary
· Ensure workmanship and observe health and safety regulations
Pay rate: Minimum $27.00/ hour Maximum $32.00/ hour
Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours, permanent full-time
Requirements for the job:
l You should have at least 3 years of work experience; Or, if no experience, you should have a relevant qualification at level 4 or above
l Be physically fit and healthy
l Full time availability, may work on the weekends
l No criminal record
l Candidates need to be NZ citizen/resident
