WE ARE HIRING – SITE FOREMAN (CONSTRUCTION / PAINTING)

Position: Site Foreman (Building Associate)

Type of Employment: Permanent full-time employment
Salary: $35 – $40 per hour (depending on experience and qualification)
Hours: Minimum 30 hours – Maximum 50 hours per week

Hutt City Painters Limited provides painting, renovation, and general construction services for residential and commercial projects across Wellington. While painting is the company’s core service, we also undertake construction-related works including surface preparation, minor building repairs, and renovation activities.

We are currently seeking a Site Foreman to assist with the supervision and coordination of site operations to ensure construction and painting works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with planning and organizing painting and construction activities on site
• Supervising and coordinating painters and construction workers on projects
• Monitoring work progress and ensuring compliance with project specifications and quality standards
• Liaising with project managers, builders, and subcontractors to coordinate site activities
• Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and site procedures
• Inspecting completed work and resolving quality or technical issues where required
• Assisting with estimating materials, labour requirements, and work schedules
• Monitoring the efficient use of materials, tools, and equipment on site
• Preparing basic progress reports and providing updates to management
• Providing guidance and support to workers to maintain productivity and workmanship standards

Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in construction management or site supervision; OR
• A relevant qualification such as Diploma or higher qualification in Construction, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Additional requirements:

• Clear criminal record
• Be able to work at weekend (in case emergency required)
